We can Help!

Pug Rescue of North Carolina (PRONC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the Pug Dog Breed. We rescue pugs in crisis, carefully nursing them back to health, physically and emotionally, in individual PRONC volunteer’s homes. Each pug is treated as family until such time as a suitable home, which has been screened and approved by the membership, can be located.

Many pugs come to PRONC with minor to severe health challenges. We make every effort to save each animal that comes into our care, saving euthanization for only the extreme, and very rare case where there is no other reasonable option. We have every pug evaluated by a veterinarian and they are spayed/neutered, heartworm checked, micro-chipped and brought up to date on all vaccinations.

At this time, due to limited resources, we are only accepting pure bred pugs. However, we rescue pugs of any age or health. Our ability to accept an animal is limited to available space and funding. Thanks to you, we have saved many pugs from being put down at overcrowded animal shelters.

PRONC has no paid employees and is supported through your kind gift donations and through the wonderful efforts of our family of volunteers. As you can imagine, meeting the needs of so many homeless, neglected and abused animals, is a financial challenge. Won't you consider making your tax deductible donation today? You will feel great knowing that you brought some light into a little dog’s life who will then go on to bring happiness into someone’s home.

If you love the pug breed and would like to join us in opening your heart and home to foster pugs in need, we would love to hear from you. We need kind hearted and dedicated volunteers in the Carolinas and surrounding states.

We are a publicly supported organization described in sections 170 (b) (1) (A) (vi) of the IRS code

We are a 501 ( 3 ) (c) nonprofit organization, and your donations are tax deductible

Prior to surrendering you pug check references on the organization and rescue representative Email us for more information:  admin@pugrescuenc.org. Contact the Central Carolina Pug Dog Club, Inc, Pug Dog Club of America, Inc.,  and the Internal Revenue Service for references on our organization.

Be very careful whom you release your pug to. There are many people out there only wanting to get your pug to sell it for money, dog fighting, puppy mill breeding style or even use it for animal testing!  Don't be fooled by a scam.

Do the best thing for the Pug; get them to a safe place where it will be loved and cared for by professionals of a legitimate organization!

"ALL" members of Pug Rescue of North Carolina, Inc. will wear proper and positive ID at all times when meeting with you!
